Chargers win Wester Division, L.T. breaks TD record

It's starting to look a lot like 2004. Remember this image from the last time the Chargers won the Western Division in 2004? That season we went 12-4 but lost to the Jets in the first round.

I have to believe following wins over Oakland, Buffalo and Denver over the past few weeks that the Chargers have a better team than the team which captured the title 2 years ago. It looks like the rest of the so called football experts are also starting to jump on San Diego's bandwagon.

Why wouldn't they? I don't have to tell you about L.T.'s record, we all know how he shattered the single season touchdown record set a year ago by Seattle's Shaun Alexander with 29. But if you haven't followed SD all season then you may not also be familiar with these numbers:

0- that's the number of defeats the Chargers have this season at home, unbeaten at home and playing two out of their final three games in San Diego.

1-The number of NFL players which may have ended their careers as a result of a vicious hit by linebacker Shawne Merriman (Priest Holmes KC last season)

12.5- The number of sacks perpetrated by Lights Out on opposing quarterbacks, tied with Aaron Shobel of Buffalo. The difference? Merriman was suspended for four games this season and he was leading the NFL in sacks prior to his suspension! Don't get me started on the number of fumbles he's forced, ask rookie Bronco quarterback Jay Cutler

But the number which may be the most impressive at the end of the season might be the win-loss column which can earn San Diego a bye in the first round and home field throughout the playoffs. Baltimore, Cincinatti and those other clubs better watch out if the road through the Super Bowl goes through San Diego! Go BOLTS!!!

1 - I am soooo freaking proud of the our Chargers and especially of LT!! That ladies and gentlemen is not only history in the making, but one class act. Which I hope my children, and all the children that watch the game study him and use him as their prime sports role model! He has so many qualities, and not only makes the game better, but makes us fans all better...

BOLT PRIDE & GTP: I miss yall, and wish I could have been there! will try my very hardest to make it there for a game before the end of the season. If not I will totally see you there for the playoffs!! I've have been really tight on funds, and with x-mas here and all, it just makes it harder for me to make that trip from Phoenix, AZ. But again it's on for sure in the Playoffs in January!!!

PS: Us Chargers fans here in Phoenix, sure are making some noise. We've got our cars all done up (flags, decals, marked up windows with "AFC WEST CHAMPS") and representing for our bolts!!! Got to love it!!

GO BOLTS!!!!!

2 - The team was solid and looked hungry! That 3rd quarter was a bit shakey, but
our guys always find a way to flip the switch in the 4th quarter and finish
strong. The crowd was loud and pumped - we got 2 or 3 false starts called on
the donkeys.

I am impressed the way the O-line has been wearing down the opposition in
the 4th quarter almost all season. They have done an awesome job, especially
having a rookie at left tackle. McNeil has been solid and doesn't take crap
from anybody - did you see him stare down those guys in Denver when they got
in his face??!!

It all starts up front at the "O" and "D" lines, when we get it done up
front everthing is possible. Welcome back "Big Louie #93" we missed ya!

GO BOLTS!
